Week 17 Chargers
I woke up with a very big smile on my face today. When I asked myself why this was the case, I realized the chargers absolutely thumped the Broncos on Sunday. It was a do or die game for the Chargers and they most certainly delivered. Austin Ekeler was a beast and as he was able to find the holes in the Broncos defensive line and make them pay for it. Justin Herbert broke the record for the amount of single season Touchdown passes in Chargers history with his 35th touchdown to Mike Williams. The defense also decided to show up on Sunday. It was very difficult for the Broncos to find any sort of room to throw the ball. The biggest difference was Brandon Staley making the better and slightly more conservative calls. On a 4th and 1 on the Broncos goal line with his team up 7, Staley decided to kick a field goal instead of going for it. In my opinion, this shows a lot of maturity from Brandon Staley and his ability to learn from his mistakes.
The Chargers now have a HUGE matchup next Sunday against the Raiders. It is a do or die match. With the Raiders taking dow the Colts this past week, the Chargers Raiders matchup next Sunday night will be must watch television. Everything is on the line. Only one team will make the playoffs, and I pray that the Bolts will be the victorious team. If they play like they did this past week, the Chargers will certainly be in a good spot to beat the raiders. Will the Chargers show up or go home?
